A good day...

Today, was a very good day... it is finally starting to cool down enough that I am actually enjoying being outside! I am sure that this is great for my daughter since we have been spending most of our time cooped up in the house with the air conditioner on full blast! This pregnancy I have been so hot my family has been referring to me as a furnace , I honestly do not think that I have perspired this much in my entire life! lol... Well anyway, today was so beautiful (and not too windy) I decided I would wash and hang my cloth diapers! This to me is very exciting! I have been wanting to wash my diapers for the first time and smell that clean smell you get from clothes on the line. I still have about 8 weeks until my due date, but I couldn't wait any longer to start getting everything ready...

This side of the line shows all of the prefolds!
Isn't that a lovely site?

About the time that I finished with the hanging, there was starting to be a chill in the air. I thought tonight would be the perfect night for corn chowder! (One of my most favorite meals) Corn chowder is sooooo simple to make but so comforting and delicious!

Corn Chowder
3 good sized carrots chopped
4 stalks of celery chopped
1 whole onion chopped
3 medium sized potatoes chopped
2 cans of Cream Corn
1-2 cans of evaporated milk
1 stick of butter
parsley

In your pot saute your celery, carrots, and onion. Cook until the veggies are al dente, add in your potatoes and just enough water to cover everything. Cook until the potatoes are done. Add in the rest of the ingredients. Cook about another 10-15 min. and enjoy!

Like I said this recipe is super simple but delicious! You can always add more of less of any of the veggies and it will still turn out great! Also if you are in the mood for a thicker chowder just add less evaporated milk! It has always been tradition in our family to eat our chowder with bologna sandwiches, but not having any, I decided to eat it with tomato sandwiches! It was delicious!

I love the 2 colors of tomatoes! These tomatoes were given to me to my Momma straight out of her garden! Delicious! There is nothing like a fresh garden tomato!

I  really hope that you enjoyed this post!
Until next time! <3

First post! Exciting New Girls' Room!

Hello welcome to my blog! I am excited that my first post is going to be our new girls' room! We have worked hard on this and with the birth of our 2nd lovely lady only 9 short weeks away, we couldn't of finished at a better time! This was 100% a combined effort and all the ideas were my Mom's and mine! Well... Lets get to it shall we...

So first off here is the room before we added the furniture and decorations!! I really wish that I had before pictures, because this room was awful! It was painted  almost a desert sand color (I had a lapse in judgement) and there were cracks that showed on the wall.... it was just a mess! Also the floor was wood but very old and very messed up! So... now that you have a picture in your head of what it used to look like... TADA!! lol My mother did all of the patching/painting/touching up, etc. and my dad helped with sanding, the floor, curtain rods, etc... you know man things! lol I would just like to say that this room would have never gotten finished if it were not for my parents!! <3
So... here is a close up of the curtains that my mother found that are just perfect for this room! I love the pattern... it feels very Alice in Wonderland to me!
Handmade rail bumpers made with minky and a backing material just to make it cushy! (Don't worry the bows are sewn so they can not be untied!) These turned out much better than I ever thought they would of!
Here is the room all finished! AMAZING!!!
This is Evie's side of the bedroom! In the picture frame is a picture of her when she was first born! I love it sooooo much! And in the shadow box is her very first hat that was given to her by the ladies at the hospital!
Here is a close up of her bed!
This will be Ella's side of the room! With a place for her newborn picture and first hat!
Here is a close up of her bed also! Sooo sweet!
This is my favorite area in the room! This is where I will be storing all of the cloth diapers, wipes, swaddle blankets, extra sheets, etc! I love the pop of the white and the blue! (This was my Mother's idea... AMAZING) lol
Close up of the top of the dresser!
This is the last spot to show you! Our littler Chevron wall! (FYI I love Chevron... in case you couldn't tell) With one of the sweetest signs ever! In case you can't read it, it says "I love you a bushel and a peck and a hug around the neck! <3
Inside of the closet! Love the pop of blue!

Well I hope you enjoyed our girls' room and maybe it gave you some inspiration! I really love this room and my daughter is soooo excited about it! Before I go I must show you just one more picture... of what I think to be the MOST amazing, beautiful, and wonderful part of the room...

My Daughter Evie!!! <3

Well, I hope that you all come back to visit and see what kinds of new things we come up with and adventures we have! Until next time... <3
